Vehicle class
The single biggest lever. A comfortable standard saloon or crossover sits at one end, executive saloons in the middle, flagship saloons and full-size SUVs at the top. Between the bottom and top of an operator's fleet, the rate can comfortably double.
How you book
Hourly hire, full-day hire, a point-to-point transfer and an intercity trip are priced as different products, even when the same car and driver deliver all four. Hourly suits a short window with several stops. A transfer suits one clean A to B. A full day is its own rate — usually gentler per hour than booking those hours one by one.
The route

Take a mid-range hourly rate of AED 100. Eight hours booked hour by hour is AED 800 — and many operators publish full-day rates below what the same day costs at their own hourly price. The crossover usually arrives somewhere around the six-hour mark: if your plan runs from morning meetings into an evening dinner, price the day rate before you book hours.

Airport transfers: priced differently — and that is the point
A metered taxi from the airport charges you for traffic. Ride-hailing charges you for demand — land at the wrong hour and the price moves against you while you are still in the arrivals hall.
A pre-booked chauffeur inverts this: the price is agreed before you fly, so a slow baggage belt or a busy evening changes nothing. The quiet extras that change your bill
Cheap quotes usually get expensive in one of five places:
- Waiting time. Some rates include a grace period at pickup, some charge from the first minute. At airports, this is the clause that matters most.
- Tolls. Dubai's Salik gates charge around AED 4–6 per crossing depending on the time of day. Some operators fold tolls into the quote; others add them to the bill afterwards.
- Date premiums. Peak-date surcharges are legitimate — but they should be declared when you book, not discovered on the invoice.
- "Or similar" vehicles. A photograph of a flagship saloon and a booking clause that allows "a similar vehicle" can be a very elastic combination. Ask which exact car class is guaranteed.
